Payments & Security Policy
How online payments will be processed, secured and protected once donations open.
Current status: The Foundation is under registration and is not accepting donations. This policy applies from the date donations open.
On this page
1. Current status
The Foundation is under registration and does not currently accept online payments or donations. This policy describes the standards we will follow when payments open.
2. Payment partners
Payments will be processed through payment gateways and payment aggregators authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. We will publish the available payment methods on the donation page before accepting payments.
3. What we do not store
We do not see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking password or one-time password. These credentials are entered on the payment gateway’s secure interface and handled by the gateway and your bank. We may receive a masked card reference, transaction ID, status and limited billing details needed for receipts and support.
4. Security measures
- HTTPS and transport encryption on pages that collect or transmit payment information.
- Payment gateways that comply with PCI-DSS requirements.
- Tokenisation and additional authentication such as OTP or 3-D Secure where required.
- Access controls, audit logs and segregation of duties for financial records.
- Fraud monitoring and transaction verification with the payment gateway.
- Regular review of payment providers and security practices.
No online payment system is completely risk-free. Please use a secure device and network, keep your banking credentials confidential and verify the website address before paying.
5. Failed or pending transactions
If a payment fails, the gateway or bank will normally reverse any temporary debit under its own timelines. If your account is debited but the donation is not confirmed, contact us with the transaction reference and date. We will check the status with the gateway and help resolve it.
6. Duplicate or unauthorised payments
If you notice a duplicate or unauthorised payment, contact your bank or card issuer immediately and write to us within 7 days with the transaction details. We will cooperate with the gateway and bank. Any refund is subject to verification and our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. Chargebacks
If you raise a chargeback, we will provide the gateway and bank with the information needed to investigate. We may pause related recurring donations while the dispute is open. Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve the issue directly.
8. Fraud and phishing warnings
We will never ask for donations over a phone call, messaging app, social media direct message or personal bank account. We will not ask for your UPI PIN, card CVV, password or OTP. If you receive a suspicious request in our name, do not pay. Report it to us and, where appropriate, to the cybercrime authorities.
9. Finality and refunds
Completed donations are generally non-refundable, subject to the limited exceptions in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. A payment is complete only when the gateway confirms success and we issue a receipt.
10. Contact
For payment queries, contact contact@sangathya.org. Our Grievance Officer is yet to be appointed. Postal address: Registered address will be published once registration is complete.
